School vs. Summer Vacation

We have only 1 more week of school left after this week!!!!!  6 days to be exact!   Yipee!!!!  I think this mommy/teacher is more excited than the students.  Well, it's pretty close anyway.   The boys can hardly wait until we are done!  They would just as soon quit now but their teacher won't let them.  We are actually stopping a week or two early because my brother, Harry, is coming to see us (2 weeks from today!).  There is no way that any of us are going to want to do school work after he leaves!  Spring is callling--what can I say!?  So we are counting the days until school is over and Uncle Harry arrives!

Memories

Posting my last post (Mom's birthday) brought to mind the time Mom, Dad and my sisters came to Alaska last summer.  We so enjoyed having them!  It was also their first time in Alaska.  Anyway, as I was enjoying the memories, I thought I'd post a few of my favorite pictures from their visit.  I realize that this in not really "news", at least not new news, so just think of it as a glimpse into our family album.  :-)

Happy Birthday, Mom!

My mom turned 75 yesterday!  It's hard to believe that she is that old.  You know, your parents aren't supposed to get "old", right?!  Actually, you wouldn't really know it since she is healthy and she is still a lot of fun!  I have so many good memories thanks to her.  I really appreciate the sacrifices that her and Dad made so that she could be a stay-at-home mom for us kids.  Mom was always there for me--loving me and making life interesting.  I miss her so much and wish we got to see her more!  She will never read this post (they don't have a computer) but I wanted to publicly say what a great mom I have!  Happy birthday, Mom!  I love you!  Thanks for being such a great mom!  Dad and Mom--Flattop Overlook, Alaska

I love this picture of Amy so I thought I'd share it.  This was taken a couple of months ago.

Spring is here. . .

or so we thought!  We got this yesterday.  It snowed all day long!  We got a couple of inches but Anchorage got 11 inches!  March was nice.  I don't think it snowed at all but then here we are in April and we get snow.  Oh well!  I guess that's what we get living in Alaska.  The boys sure loved it!

The other day in school Cameron was learning about Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War.  This hat was his project.  Of course, Clayton had to make one too!  

Amy' Blanket

I realized that I never posted a picture of the blanket I made for Amy.  So here it is.  I went down to check on Amy who was supposed to be taking a nap.  I eased open the door and there she was--she was sleeping alright--right in front of the door.  She had her head covered up so I flipped the blanket back to take the picture.
