Easter 2011

Our 5 blessings . . .
I love Easter! Spring time, the end of winter, warm weather but most of all the message of Easter. What a thrill to know that we serve a risen Savior!!!

Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here for He is risen as He said!!!!

Easter Morning At Our House

This year we got the kids bike helmets (they needed them anyway) and used them as their Easter baskets. They thought that was cool! They also got less candy--I think!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Tradition at our house--carried over from my childhood. Happy memories of doing this when I was a child! Our kids love it too!

Ashley kept pointing and showing me her egg.

She was having a blast!

Olive???

So last night Clayton is studying for his Social Studies test. I asked him "What happened on September 11, 2001?" He replys, "The terrorists of olive came and bombed the towers."
(Olive as in Allah.)

Composition or Cooking???

Clayton wanted to write a recipe so that's what we did for composition class. I did make some suggestions but it is pretty much his own concoction. Then of course we had to cook it. It turned out to be pretty good!

Our Trip To Seward

We had a lot of fun on our anual trip to Seward last weekend. It was nice to get out and go somewhere with the family.

Learning To Ride!

Warren took the training wheels off of Nicholas' and Amy's bikes today. Amy jumps on and takes off! Nick was not far behind her! We could hardly believe it. Never have I seen a kid get it in the first 10 minutes. Of course, they still crash but they are riding. I looked out the window this afternoon and saw Nick headed down our road like he'd been riding for weeks. He and Warren were going after the mail. It's so much fun to watch them. A little amazing too! I'll try to get pictures so I can post them.

Break-Up and Other Things

It's Break-up time--no, Warren and I are just fine :)--break-up as in Spring thaw in Alaska! It's that muddy, dirty time of year. It's warming up and most of the snow is gone (at least here in town). We have blue sunny skies (at least some days). The days are getting longer! The kids are loving being able to play outside so much. We've all been cooped up entirely too long this winter what with the extra wind and all. Ashley absolutely loves to be outside. She goes every single chance she gets. School is going good. Can hardly believe that we have only 24 days left after this week. This week Cameron is doing state testing so we're not doing school. I forgot about testing when I planned out the school year so we may need to go an extra week. I sure hope not! So do the boys! Nick and Amy are loving Pre-K. Nick was complaining today about not doing school. He was missing it. It is so fun to watch them learn new things and how they learn differently. I am seeing their personalities in a new light. Nick is very meticulous and very carefully colors or writes. Amy wants to write things down all the time and while she does a good job too she works much faster than her brother. I am looking forward to next year. Having 2 students in the same grade will be different. Warren has been working hard putting together his bunkbed business. Please pray that he gets some orders and that this thing just "takes off". Well, I guess that is enough of my rambling for one night. Hope you all are enjoying the blog since I've been updating it.

Pine Wood Derby Video

One of the dads from Clayton's den made the video you see posted below. He agreed to let me post it on my blog. Enjoy!
