My Hard-Working Man

Warren went to work yesterday morning (7:00) and didn't get home until 4:30 this morning.  He was on call and ended up working 21 hours straight.  Then when he did get home he was in bed for 1 hour and 15 minutes when the phone rang and he got called back to work.  He got home around 7:30 a.m. this time.  Needless to say he is beyond exhausted!  Thanks, Warren, for working so hard and doing it without complaining!  You do so much for us your family and we love you very much!

Hidden Spring Camp

Hidden Spring Camp is located in Houston, AK.  Our camp is only 3 days long but it is very enjoyable--and different from any church camp you have ever been to.  Our days were filled with good church services, eating Dutch Oven cooking, fun activities, rest time and fellowship around the fire.

Going to Camp

Hidden Spring Camp is in it's 5th year of existance.  Our camp is pretty small and rustic.  The only 3 buildings are Carter's cabin, the well house and the out house.  Warren is the camp cook.  He uses Dutch Ovens and a camp stove.  He does a great job!  Everyone loves his cooking.

Here we are waiting for Carters to unlock the gate to the campground.  This is only part of our load.  The Explorer is loaded as well as the trailer.  Behind them sits the Suburbon which is also loaded from back bumper to dash board.  We weren't there 5 minutes and the kids were dirty!  First they hit the dirt then they went sliding down the hill by the well house.

This is our "cottage".

Sandbox

Warren built a sandbox for the kids.  The older boys got to paint it.  They used their favorite colors: Cameron painted 2 sides red and Clayton painted 2 sides blue.  Warren painted the corner seats green.  Here is the work in progress. . . 

Better Late Than Never--Father's Day

Daddy and the 5 kids.  I finally got the picture taken and thought you all might like to see it even if it is past Father's Day.  The kids are Joshua, Amy, Nick, Cameron & Clayton.

Happy Father's Day

Warren is the best Daddy ever!  I wanted to take a picture of him and all 5 kids yesterday but he was on call all night and had to work all night so he slept most of the day.  And then of course the rest of us were at church so I didn't get a chance to snap that picture.  However, I did want to say what a great dad Warren is.  He works hard to support us and makes it possible for me to be at home with our little "hoolagins"  :-).  He has such a generous heart.  I also know that many times when he would like some time to himself he spends it with the kids.  He is there whenever we need him.  He is also a great husband which is part of being a great dad.  He provides a stable loving home for our kids.  Thanks, Warren, for being such a great father to our children!  I could not have picked a better man to be their dad!  I love you!

Happy Father's Day to my dad!    You were always there for me--loving me, teaching me, playing with me, and preparing me for life.  Even now that I'm grown and gone (several 1,000 miles away) I know that you are only just a phone call away.  You have been a great dad and I love you!

Happy Father's Day to my father-in-law!   You are a special part of our lives.  Whenever we've a had need you've always been there to do what you could.  When it comes to you harassing me--well, I guess that just means I'm loved!  :-)   

Happy Anniversary X 2

Today is Warren's parents anniversary--39 years!  Congratulations, Mom and Dad!  We love you guys!   Thanks for showing us what commitment is.  Congratulations also goes to our friends, Byron and Julie Gurnee.  13 years!  Your anniversary is easy for us to remember seeing as how it is the same day as the in-laws.  Congratulations to you all!

My Bargain

Yard Sales and Scrap Booking are my hobbies.  This past Saturday we (our whole family) went yard saling (is that a word?).  We try to go every week or at least once every 2 weeks.  Anyway, we didn't find much until the last one on our way home.  I got a treadmill for $10!  It is a nice one but simple and it is manual.  I didn't want a fancy one just one to walk on.  With the 4 kids it is hard for me to get out to walk especially in the winter.  OK, I know I need more motivation and discipline but have any of you ever tried to walk (for exercise) with 2 toddlers in tow? Besides in the winter here it is very windy and that doesn't help with the motivation!  Now I can walk while they are still asleep in the morning or whenever I want.  Anyway, I've been wanting a treadmill and I got a good deal on it as well!  Here's a picture of it.  Sorry it is sideways.  No matter what I did I couldn't get it turned around to post it.

Today is my parents anniversary.  They have been married for 53 years!  They have been a wonderful example of what a real marriage should be.  This daughter will be forever grateful their example and the haven they made our home.  I love you, Mom and Dad!
