Sewing Project

Here are some skirts that I made the girls over Christmas break. I bought some shorts (on clearance), cut the bottom off them and sewed on a skirt.

This one that Amy is wearing has lollie pops on it.

This one is Amy's favorite. She loves butterflies!

I really like these matching skirts.

The kids had fun on Christmas. We let them have their socks and 2 presents from us. Their big one had to wait until Papa and Grandma arrived. :-)

'Twas the Night Before Christmas--Picture Post #4

The older boys like to sleep in the living room on Christmas Eve. Nick and Amy decided that they couldn't be left out of the fun so they joined the boys upstairs this year. To make it all the more fun, Warren had just gotten an ice fishing tent which he set up in the living room to check it out, so he let the kids sleep in it. (Red thing behind the kids.) No, he didn't use it earlier that day. :-) He got it on the way home from fishing. We let the kids open one gift on Christmas Eve.

Warren took Cameron and Clayton ice fishing on Christmas Eve. They had a lot of fun! They caught 14 fish (well, that's how many they kept). Here are the great fishermen and their fine catch!

Wrapping Gifts--Picture Post #2

This year I wasn't about to wait until Christmas Eve to wrap gifts like I did last year. That was horrible! I had a couple of last minute things to wrap but nothing major. One night after putting the kids to bed Warren and I went out to the garage and got most of them all wrapped. We decided to play a joke on the kids this year. We took most of the gifts from us and the ones from Warren's parents, wrapped them, put them all in a big box and then wrapped the big box. We put the 4 older kids' names on it. On Christmas we told them that they had to wait until Papa and Grandma got there that afternoon to open it since it was from them too. Well, the kids thought it was one big gift for them all to share. You should have seen there faces when they opened it and found it full of presents!

2010

So here's my first post of the new year--2010! I know, I'm only 12 days late. Maybe we could make this a new tradition and call it the 12 Days of New Year! OK, so maybe not such a great idea after all. :-) 2010! Remember when the year 2000 sounded funny?! Now here we are a decade later. Wow! I promised pictures in the last post and I will get to them but things have been going full speed here lately so. . . We had 2 weeks off of school but it went by all too fast. The first week I spent getting ready for Christmas then the second week I spent with family and getting all these projects done that were long over due. It was all fun and productive but over too soon. We have already finished a week of school in the new year. The boys have gotten back into the swing of things fairly well. Even their mommy has adjusted! I was really not looking forward to returning to class but it's rather good to be back after all. We are just about done with the first half of the school year. I have to turn grades in this week. Before we know it summer will be here (if we survive Cabin Fever, that is)!
