Glad Heart Acres
Check out the website I've posted on the side bar. The family that has this site owns a store in Wasilla, AK. They have come to our church some. They are a great family! I love their hand lotion!
My God Is So Big
I know I don't usually write this kind of post but this thought has really stuck with me today. This morning in church, our pastor preached from Isaiah 40. This is a mixture of what he said and some of my own thoughts based on his comments. Our God is so big! Not only did He create the stars--more stars than we have ever seen, and scientists keep discovering "new" ones--but He named them! Verse 26 says that He called them by name! This chapter also says that God does not grow weary or faint. I guess God is big enough to get you and me through the tough days! What a great big God we serve!

Mid Winter Break
Remember how long January seemed to drag on when we were in school? After the newness of another school year wore off there was Thanksgiving and then Christmas. There were Christmas parties, programs at school and church, caroling, etc. the list just seemed to go on and on. Then after Christmas break there came January. The first half of the school year wasn't so bad but then January would hit like a ton of bricks. No other breaks until Easter. January was always such a long month. Well, time doesn't really drag by for me now that I'm older but I do remember what it was like as a kid so I decided that I'd give the boys a couple of days off between Christmas and Easter. So yesterday and today is our Mid Winter break. Honestly, I think I needed it as bad as the kids. :-) AH! School breaks are wonderful! As soon as the boys realized they had 2 days off they immediately decided they needed to spend 2 nights at Papa's and Ma's house. I've got it really easy--no school and fewer kids! I do miss the boys and will be glad when they come home tonight.
On My Father's Side
This is a really neat song. I really enjoyed it and I hope you will too. Thanks to my aunt Kate for sending it to us.

Gobbler's Knob
Yes, in case you haven't heard, Punxsutawney Phil showed his nose on Gobbler's Knob and saw his shadow. That means 6 more weeks of winter! If you all down in the Lower 48 are in for 6 more weeks of winter, where does that leave us here in Alaska? Winter here lasts almost through March anyway so . . .I'm wondering, what about us? : ) Happy Groundhog Day everyone!
