Pine Wood Derby 2011

Tonight was the annual Pine Wood Derby Race for the Cub Scouts. Each of the boys can build a car that he gets to race at the Pack Meeting. They race according to rank. The Tigers compete against each other, then the Wolves, the Bears and the Webelos. They have 1st, 2cd, and 3rd Place awards for each rank. There is also a Best Of Show which is chosen from all the cars. They have a lot of fun doing this. It's fun to watch too.

but this was he best race yet.

And The Winner Is. . .

We are so excited! Clayton won 3rd Place tonight at the Pine Wood Derby! In fact all three Wolf Cub winners were from his den.

New Stove

A few weeks ago our stove (actually the oven part) went POP! Literally! Well, that POP! was the end of the stove. Warren couldn't get parts any time soon if ever so we went with a new stove. This one is the same style as the old one but nicer. Larger oven space, a melt setting on the burner, etc.

It's a Moose!

This moose is made of Duct Tape! He is on display at the Transportation Museum in Wasilla. A few years ago he was part of the Christmas display at Walmart. The Wasilla Walmart is the Duct Tape capital--it sells the most duct tape in the country.

New Glasses

Ashley finally got her new glasses. She'd been without them for a while since the last pair broke. I wanted to wait until she went to the doctor to make sure what prescription she needed before I paid for a new pair. Anyway, she has them now and seemed pretty happy to have them. I asked her if she liked her glasses. She nodded yes!

Bunkbeds

Another of Warren's projects. These bunk beds turned out great! Anyone want to buy a set? Just let us know.
