Mother's Day

Well, yesterday was Mother's Day.  Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there and especially to the moms in my life--my Mom, my Mom-in-law and Mom G!  God has blessed me so much!  He gave me the best mom in the world and then added some more special people to my life.  Thanks, Mom, for all the loving, the discipline, the caring, the instruction and the fun you provided to me over the years.  One of the things I appreciate most about my mom is the fact that she was always there for me.  Dad worked hard to provide for us so that my mom could stay home with us.  She was always there when I got home from school.  I really appreciate the fact that she was there to welcome me home and to talk to about my day.

Being a mom is the best job I could have!  I may step on somebody's toes with the some of what I say in this post although that is not my intention.  I believe that the woman's place is in the home (unless circumstances dictate otherwise).  "I don't feel fulfilled without my career" seems to be a popular sentiment.  I'm thinking that some parents need to reevaluate their priorities.  I honestly don't know how some people get everything done.  I have enough to keep me busy 30 hours a day and I don't work outside the home.  My family is more important to me than having an expensive house or cars and "toys".   I'm afraid that some just aren't willing to make the adjustments needed to make it on one income.  I'm not talking about trying to make ends meet financially.  I also know some that truly need that second income.  I'll step off my soap box now but just let me say this before I go. . .  Being a mom is a busy, "on call" 24/7 kind of a job but the benefits & rewards are more than worth it!  Our kids need us so let's be the best moms we can be!
