Winter Has Returned

Winter has finally come back to Alaska.  It started to snow early this morning.  The snow just poured down from the sky until shortly before 9:00 when it slowed down some.  I think this picture looks much better than the one I posted a few days ago.  I have been wishing we'd get dumped on with snow.  We've gotten 7 inches so far and it's still snowing.  :-)

Today I walked down to the school to pick up Clayton.  I have been driving the truck all winter because it gets so cold and windy here and it's easier with a 3 year old, a 2 year old and a 3 month old.  Even with the snow it was just too nice (not bitterly cold--it's 18 degrees) of a day to stay inside.  I think maybe I just needed to get outside of my own 4 walls.  Also the Kindergarten classes have been learning about the Chinese New Year and they were having a parade this afternoon.  So I bundled Nick and Amy up in all their gear, put Ashley in her carrier and we headed out.  They had a blast walking to and from the school in the snow.  They liked watching the K parade too.  Clayton was all smiles when he saw us standing there.  When we got home I let the 3 kids play in the yard for a short while.  Ashley fell asleep at the school and actually stayed asleep when we got home.  I'm glad I decided to walk today.  I really enjoyed it too!
